Karlheinz "Kalle" Wallner (born June 25, 1972 in Freising ) is a German guitarist . He is a founding member of the band RPWL founded in 1996 , solo artist and co-owner of a music label and a music studio .

Kalle Wallner gained his first musical experience at the age of six when he was taking lessons in classical guitar . From 1982 he attended the Camerloher high school in Freising , where he received violin lessons and later became a member of the school orchestra. In 1983 he received his first electric guitar and founded his first band, followed by various local bands and performances.

After graduating from high school in 1991, he did his community service at the Red Cross Freising. In 1991, at the age of only 19, he recorded the first CD of his band "Violet District" at the time in the studio of producer Yogi Lang. The album Terminal Breath was released in 1992 in self-distribution. From 1992 to 1994 he completed a degree in psychology at the University of Regensburg , which he completed with an intermediate diploma. From 1994 to 1996 he finally studied at the Munich Guitar Institute (MGI) in Munich .

From 1996 Wallner worked as a studio and live guitarist in various bands and projects and made his first appearance with a band that was named RPWL in 1997 (on the occasion of the reopening of the Lindenkeller Freising). In 1999 he founded the "Farm Studios" together with RPWL bandmate Yogi Lang to produce the first RPWL album God Has Failed , which was released in 2000. A total of 15 RPWL albums were produced there by 2017, which were initially released by the Tempus Fugit and Inside Out labels by 2010.

Wallner has been making his own productions since 2000 and composes for numerous other artists and companies, including a. Fendt, Dr. Spiller. Between 2003 and 2010 he ran a. a. together with Yogi Lang the company Farmlands, which not only acted as a label and booking or event agency, but also as a recording studio and event organizer; this company founded u. a. the Uferlos Festival in Freising.

In 2007 Wallner launched his solo project “Blind Ego”, with which he released the album Mirror that same year, which included an unreleased track by Violet District. The guests on the album are the English musicians John Mitchell ( It Bites ) and Paul Wrightson (Ex- Arena ). From 2008 to 2014 Wallner was the guitarist of the Austrian band Cama . In 2009 he released the second blind ego album Numb , u. a. with Sepultura drummer Iggor Cavalera and again Paul Wrightson as guests. The bass player on the first two blind ego albums was the Englishman John Jowitt ( IQ , Arena, Frost * ).

In 2010 Wallner founded the label " Gentle Art of Music " with Yogi Lang . The label's first release was the album Terminal Breath by "Violet District" as a re-release on vinyl. Since it was founded, this label has released more than 50 albums with the Soulfood distributor , including the RPWL albums released in 2010, and signed 20 artists.

In 2016, Blind Ego's third solo album called Liquid , u. a. with the singers Arno Menses ( Subsignal ), Erik Ez Blomkvist (Ex- Dreamscape ) and Aaron Brooks (Simeon Soul Charger), as well as the bass trio Sebastian Harnack ( Sylvan ), Ralf Schwager (Subsignal) and Heiko Jung ( Panzerballett ). At the same time, Wallner released the single Blackened . Blind Ego went on a European tour in 2017 and published a complete concert on YouTube that was filmed in the Logo in Hamburg . On November 10, 2017 the live album Liquid Live by Blind Ego was released, which contains the CD Live at Loreley and the DVD Live at Logo Hamburg (identical to the YouTube video).

Wallner married in 2013. Since then he has lived and worked both in Freising and near Innsbruck in Austria .

Kalle Wallner prefers to play guitars from the German manufacturer Nik Huber Guitars and guitar amplifiers from the German company Diezel Amplification . Wallner's connection to Nik Huber Guitars is documented in the 2017 video Blind Ego - From Idea To Reality: The Story So Far .
