Heiko Jung (bassist)

Heiko Jung (born May 22, 1982 in Memmingen ) is a German fusion musician (bass).

Live and act

Jung studied jazz electric bass with Patrick Scales and classical double bass with Caius Oana at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich ; In-depth workshops and lessons with Lee Konitz , Gary Willis , Markus Setzer, Markus Bodenseh and Igor Schiele followed. He completed his studies with top marks in the artistic diploma examination. He was also the state winner in the youth jazz competition with his band Fourscore and became a member of the Bavarian State Youth Jazz Orchestra .

Jung has been part of the metal jazz band Panzerballett since 2008 and has performed regularly with percussionist Martin Grubinger or Klaus Doldingers Passport . He also works with his brother, the guitarist Alex Jung, and in the Trio Triazz with Dittmar Hess and Thomas Wecker. He also worked with Randy Brecker , Joseph Bowie , Ulf Wakenius , Mattias Eklundh , Claudio Roditi , Bobby Shew , Peter O'Mara , Jay Ashby, Roberto Di Gioia , Hugo Strasser , Rob Pronk , Max Mutzke , and the Academy of St. Martin in the fields . With Jan Eschke and Arno Haselsteiner he formed the trio Dreizack , which presented the album Tricolor . Jung works as a workshop author for the specialist magazine "bassquarterly".
