Alexander von Hagke (born November 28, 1975 ) is a German saxophonist , clarinetist and composer .

Life

Hagke studied saxophone and clarinet at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich and at the City College of New York with Rich Perry , Leszek Zadlo and Ivan Mähr . He was a member of the Landesjugendjazzorchester Bayern and from 1997 to 1999 the Bundesjazzorchester . He also studied mathematics at the Technical University of Munich and wrote books in the IT field . He was national winner at Jugend jazzt and from 2001 to 2003 a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . From 2003 to 2006 he worked as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group .

Hagke gives concerts with his own ensembles and has published CDs with his compositions. In addition to soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, he also plays the clarinet and flute . He leads the classical jazz crossover quartet Passo Avanti and belongs to the heavy metal jazz band Panzerballett . He also played with Peter O'Mara , Chris Gall , the Munich Philharmonic , the Harald Rüschenbaum Jazz Orchestra, Adrian Mears and Thomas Stabenow . In 2013 von Hagke participated in the children's jazz project Die Pecorinos: Sometimes love is cheese .

In 2011 he received the Bavarian Art Prize in the music category.
