Tobi Hofmann (born August 30, 1973 in Munich ) is a German jazz musician , actor and director.

Life

Tobi Hofmann was a permanent member of the Tölzer Boys Choir from 1979 to 1984 and also received his first piano lessons. From 1985 he also received drums and drums lessons and began playing the trumpet in 1989. He wrote his first own compositions and arrangements for an a cappella singing quintet.

In 1994 he founded a big band , which he led from drums for two years . In 1996 he went to the Rotterdam Conservatory to study composition with Rob Pronk . From 1998 to 2002 he studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and graduated with a diploma.

From 2002 to 2004 he had a permanent engagement as an actor and musician at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe . Since then he has worked as a freelance jazz musician, composer for stage and film, actor and director, a. a. at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden , the Theater Basel , the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. Since 2011 he has been musical director and director at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt .
