Nagel-Heyer Records

Nagel-Heyer Records is an independent German jazz label based in Hamburg that was founded in 1992.

The occasion for the foundation was a live concert on George Gershwin's 100th birthday with Danny Moss , Randy Sandke , Ken Peplowski , Kenny Davern , Jake Hanna and George Masso . The founders are Frank, Hans and Sabine Nagel-Heyer (the managing director). One focus of the label is mainstream jazz .

In 2008, the catalog comprised over 210 titles. The label's artists include Ruby Braff , Eric Reed , Wycliffe Gordon , Clark Terry , Zoot Sims , Donald Harrison , Bill Charlap , Terell Stafford , Harry Allen , Buck Clayton , Ralph Sutton , Jake Hanna, Howard Alden , Byron Stripling , Bob Wilber , Warren Vaché , Claudio Roditi , Benny Lackner or Martin Sasse . The up-and-coming musicians built up by the label include the singer Lyambiko , the New York saxophonist Wayne Escoffery , the Canadian saxophonist Dylan Cramer , the singer Susanne Menzel , Zona Sul the bossa Nova singer Sophie Wegener , the band of saxophonist Johannes Ludwig and the one who plays in Norway English pianist Roy Powell .
