Oliver Urbanski
Oliver Urbanski (* 1975 in Berlin ) is a German actor , singer , composer and radio play speaker .
Life
Oliver Urbanski comes from a working-class family and grew up in his hometown. During his school days he had his first film roles and played in off-theaters . After studying at the "Ernst Busch" Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin from 1999 to 2002 and graduating with a diploma, he began his first engagement at the Berliner Ensemble . Urbanski then made several guest appearances at the Hamburg St. Pauli Theater , and other engagements took him to the Saarland State Theater and the State Theater Linz, among others .
Under directors such as Robert Wilson , Peter Zadek , Luc Bondy and Ulrich Waller , Urbanski played for example in Georg Büchner's Leonce and Lena , in Bertolt Brecht's petty bourgeois wedding , in Arsen and lace by Joseph Kesselring , in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller and the Paul Abraham operetta Victoria and her hussar . As Trollkönig and Hassan he took part in Zadek's Peer Gynt production and was seen with it on various foreign stages, for example at the International Theater Festival in Edinburgh, the European Theater Prize in Thessaloniki and at the Portuguese Teatro Almada. In addition, since 2008 Urbanski has been the emcee in the musical Cabaret by John Kander and Fred Ebb on the stages of the Bar every reason and the tipi at the Chancellery .
Oliver Urbanski also works as a singer and was trained accordingly by Christian Schleicher and Jonathan Kinsler . He also plays several instruments, including the saxophone, flute, accordion and piano. As a composer, he wrote the incidental music for more than 30 productions at the Ruhrfestspiele , at the Schauspielhaus Bochum and at the Munich Volkstheater .
You rarely see Urbanski in front of the camera. He made his debut in 2003 in two short films, he was also seen as a guest actor in series such as Notruf Hafenkante , Last Trace Berlin or the Tatort episode Im Sog des Böse . Since 2005 he has also been involved in radio play productions by various broadcasters.
