Bengt Petter Johansson (born June 25, 1942 in Halmstad ) is a former handball player and coach from Sweden . He is considered the most successful coach of the Swedish national handball team . Under his leadership, the "Bengan Boys" won thirteen medals at sixteen international championships (Olympic, World Cup, European Championship) between 1988 and 2004.

After finishing school in his hometown, Bengt Johansson went to reserve officer training and then studied sociology and psychology . Between 1966 and 1968 he completed training as a sports teacher at the gymnastics and sports college in Stockholm .

At the same time, Johansson played handball, mostly on the position of the circle . His clubs were Handbollspojkarnas IF and SoIK Hellas in Stockholm and from 1971 to 1976 HK Drott in Halmstad. From 1964 to 1972 Johansson played 83 times in the Swedish national team and took part in the Olympic Games in Munich .

Bengt Johansson was several times coach of HK Drott, 1974-1975 as a player-coach, 1976-1984 and 1985-1988. After Johansson was appointed national coach in 1988, he led the team in 471 country comparisons. He was succeeded in 2004 by Ingemar Linnéll .
