Glenn Solberg (born February 18, 1972 in Drammen , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball coach and a former handball player . Solberg has 2 children.

Solberg began playing handball at Reistad IL in 1983. In 1992 he moved to Drammen HK , where he got his first professional contract and won the Norwegian Cup and the European City Cup in 1996 and the Norwegian Championship in 1997. It was here that he met Frode Hagen for the first time . In 1997 he moved to HSG Nordhorn in the German handball league , Frode Hagen followed him a year later. Together they formed the Norwegian backcourt duo for the Nordhornern, and together they were poached by FC Barcelona in 2002 . Solberg won the Spanish championship and the EHF Cup in 2003 , the Copa del Rey de Balonmano and the European Club Championship in 2004 . While he was hired by SG Flensburg-Handewitt in 2004, Frode Hagen went to rival THW Kiel . In 2005 he won the DHB Cup again before returning to Norway in 2006 to his hometown club Drammen HK. There he let his career end - reunited with Frode Hagen. After 1995, he was also voted Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008. On May 3rd, 2008 he played his last game as a professional handball player in Bergen. In November 2009, however, Solberg returned to the squad of the injured Drammen HK and played four more games in the Postenligaen .

Glenn Solberg has played 122 international matches for the Norwegian men's national handball team . His greatest success with Norway was 6th place at the 2008 European Handball Championship in Norway.

On August 1, 2012 Solberg took over the coaching position of the Norwegian B national team. From January 2014 he worked as assistant coach for the Norwegian national team. In 2015 he also took over the coaching position of the Norwegian second division team St. Hallvard, which under his direction rose to the highest Norwegian league in 2016. Solberg left his job at the Norwegian Association in summer 2016 in order to be able to concentrate fully on his office at St. Hallvard. In 2019, he left St. Hallvard. Solberg took over the Swedish national team after the 2020 European Championship .

Solberg is an athlete ambassador for the development aid organization Right to Play .
