Johann Albert Wasa ( Polish Jan Olbracht Waza ; born June 25, 1612 in Warsaw , Poland , † December 29, 1634 in Padua , Republic of Venice , today Italy ) was a Prince of Poland-Lithuania from the Wasa dynasty and Prince-Bishop of Warmia and Krakow .

His parents were King Sigismund III. Wasa and Constanze from Austria . Johann II Casimir and Bishop Karl Ferdinand Wasa were his brothers.

Johann Albert became Prince-Bishop of Cracow on October 20, 1632 , which he held together with the Office of Prince-Bishop in Warmia , which he held since 1621, until his death. Having already in 1629 by Pope Urban VIII. To cardinal in pectore had been created, his cardinalate was published in 1633 and Wasa to cardinal deacon of Santa Maria in Aquiro appointed.

Johann Albert died in Padua, Italy, where his brother Władysław IV. Wasa sent him on a diplomatic mission.

He is buried in the crypt of the Wawel Cathedral in Krakow, where his sarcophagus is in the crypt under the Vasa Chapel .
