Andrei Rublev celebrated great successes in his junior career. In 2014 he won the individual competition at the French Open . In the same year he won bronze in singles and silver in doubles at the Summer Youth Olympic Games .
He mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far he has celebrated three single and one double victories on the Future Tour. He won a doubles title on the Challenger Tour. He made his debut in singles on the ATP World Tour in October 2014 at the Kremlin Cup , where he lost in two sets against Samuel Groth in the opening round . In doubles, the same tournament, the Kremlin Cup 2014 in Moscow, made the first appearance at World Tour level. Here Rublev formed a double pair with Yevgeny Donskoi . They won the first two doubles games and only lost in two sets in the semi-finals against Samuel Groth and Chris Guccione . Together with Dmitri Tursunow , he won the Moscow doubles competition in 2015 . The following year he secured his first individual title on the Challenger Tour in Quimper .
As a qualifier, he lost to top seed Andy Murray in the second round in three sets at the Australian Open 2017 . After some attractive results on the Challenger Tour Rublev was able to qualify for the main draw of the French Open , where he was defeated by Diego Schwartzman in five sets. The quarter-finals at the Gerry Weber Open resulted in the first entry into the top 100. Rublev was able to play in Wimbledon as a qualifier again in the second main field round, where he was subject to Albert Ramos in a five-set match. At the tournament in Umag he won his first title on the World Tour as a lucky loser , making it into the top 50 for the first time.
