Paul-Henri Mathieu (born January 12, 1982 in Strasbourg ) is a former French tennis player .

Career

He won the ATP tournaments in Lyon and Moscow in 2002 and reached the final in Palermo in 2003 .

From 1997 to 2000 coached Mathieu in the tennis academy of Nick Bollettieri in Florida . In 2000 he won the junior competition at the French Open , where he defeated Tommy Robredo in the final . For the 2002 season he received the ATP Newcomer of the Year award .

In 2007 he won the clay court tournaments in Casablanca and Gstaad . He secured his only double title in September 2008 at the ATP tournament in Bucharest at the side of his compatriot Nicolas Devilder with an extremely close decision in the third set (22:20).

Mathieu ended his career in 2017 after the Rolex Paris Masters .

Private

Mathieu married Quiterie Camus on the second weekend in September 2016. Both have been parents to a son since 2012. The couple had a daughter in March 2017.
