Men's singles at the US Open 2016 .

The defending champion was Novak Đoković . He reached the final again, but lost there in four sets against Stan Wawrinka . For Wawrinka it was the first triumph at the US Open and his third Grand Slam title overall.

The qualification of the US Open 2016 took place for the men from August 23 to 26, 2016. 16 qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
