The St. Petersburg Open 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in St. Petersburg from September 19 to 25, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the Moselle Open was played in Metz , which, like the St. Petersburg Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champions were Milos Raonic in singles and Treat Huey and Henri Kontinen in doubles .
