The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Dubai from February 22nd to 27th, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Abierto Mexicano Telcel was played in Acapulco and the Brasil Open in São Paulo . The former, like the tournament in Dubai, was part of the ATP World Tour 500 category , while the tournament in São Paulo was part of the lower endowed ATP World Tour 250 category .

Roger Federer was the defending champion in singles, while Rohan Bopanna and Daniel Nestor won doubles last year.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 2,249,215; total financial liabilities were $ 2,674,445.

The qualification took place from February 20-21, 2016. Four qualifier places were played out in singles and one place in doubles, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
