The TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Open 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Istanbul from April 25th to May 1st, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on a clay court. In the same week the BMW Open was played in Munich and the Millennium Estoril Open in Estoril , which, like the TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Defending champion in singles was Roger Federer , in doubles Radu Albot and Dušan Lajović won the title last year.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each had a bye in round one. The total prize money was 426,530 euros; the total financial liabilities were 483,080 euros.

The qualification took place from April 23 to 24, 2016. Four places were played for participation in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
