ATP World Tour 2016
The ATP World Tour 2016 was the highest competition series in male professional tennis in 2016 and is organized by the ATP . It consists of the four Grand Slam tournaments ( supervised by the ITF ) as well as the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 , the ATP World Tour 500 and the ATP World Tour 250 in descending order. In addition, the ATP Finals , the Davis Cup and the Hopman Cup are part of it. The latter two were organized by the ITF like the Grand Slam tournaments. The Hopman Cup is the only tournament that pays no points for themWorld rankings . The winners of the mixed competition are also listed in the Grand Slam tournaments.
The tournament in Valencia , which was graduated to a 250 tournament in the previous year , was no longer played and was replaced by the tournament in Antwerp, which was held again for the first time since 1998 .
Tour information
In 2016 a total of 66 tournaments were held in 32 countries on six continents. The four Grand Slam tournaments and the Davis Cup are not taken into account ; they were organized by the ITF and were not part of the ATP World Tour. Just like the Olympic Games, also organized by the ITF.
