The Millennium Estoril Open 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Estoril from April 25th to May 1st, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on a clay court. The same week the BMW Open was played in Munich and the TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Open in Istanbul , which, like the Millennium Estoril Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Defending champion in singles was Richard Gasquet , while Treat Huey and Scott Lipsky won doubles last year .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize money was 463,520 euros; the total financial liabilities were 520,070 euros.

The qualification took place from April 23 to 24, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
