Steven Diez (born March 17, 1991 in Toronto ) is a Canadian tennis player .

Career

Steven Diez mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far, he has celebrated 12 single and seven double victories on the Future Tour. On January 6, 2014, he broke through the top 200 of the world rankings in singles for the first time and his highest ranking was a 161st place in September 2016.

He made his singles debut on the ATP World Tour in July 2014 at the BB&T Atlanta Open , where he qualified for the main round, but then lost in straight sets to Thiemo de Bakker in the opening round .

In January 2019 Diez won his first title on the Challenger Tour. In Burnie he prevailed in the final against the Australian Maverick Banes in two sets.

Steven Diez has played for the Canadian Davis Cup team since 2010 . For this he competed in an encounter, where he has a balance of 0: 1 in the individual.
