Dietmar Rost

Dietmar Rost (born March 18, 1939 in Arnsberg ; † January 13, 1996 in Bad Rothenfelde ) was a German teacher, author and editor.

Life

Rost attended the Laurentianum grammar school in Arnsberg. After graduating from high school, he studied pedagogy in Münster . From 1961 to 1967 he was first a teacher at the elementary school in Freienohl and then headmaster at the Sunderaner elementary school Westenfeld and the elementary school Langscheid . From 1968 to 1972 he was the head of department at the district seminar. Rost lived in Sundern-Westenfeld and died at the age of 56.

He was the founding chairman of the Christine Koch Society and co-founder of the Sunderaner Kulturring as well as a member of the Liturgy Commission in Paderborn and a member of the editorial board of the Sauerland magazine . He left his extensive library to the Christine Koch Society.

Works (selection)

Rost wrote his own poems and was the editor of anthologies. There was repeated literary collaboration with Joseph Machalke . His over 50 non-fiction and anthologies had a total circulation of one and a half million copies.
