The Portugal Open 2014 was a tennis tournament that took place from April 28th to May 4th, 2014 in Oeiras . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2014 and was played on clay court. In the same week, the BMW Open was played in Munich , which, like the Portugal Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in the singles was Stanislas Wawrinka , who gave up his participation at short notice in order to prepare for the clay court tournaments in Madrid and Rome . Santiago González and Scott Lipsky won the doubles title last year . They successfully defended their title.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round.

qualification

Qualification for the Portugal Open 2014 took place from April 26th to 28th, 2014. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
