The BNP Paribas Open 2014 was a tennis tournament that took place in Indian Wells from March 6-16, 2014 . It was part of the 2014 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the 2014 season it was the first of nine tournaments in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 category . At the same time, the women's BNP Paribas Open 2014 took place in Indian Wells .

Defending champion in the singles was Rafael Nadal , who was eliminated in the round of 16 against Oleksandr Dolhopolow . The Serbian Novak Đoković won the final in three sets against Roger Federer . In doubles, the American brothers Bob and Mike Bryan were able to defend their title from last year. They won the final in straight sets against Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 96 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 32 pairs. The 32 top seeded players each received a bye to the second round.

qualification

The qualification for the BNP Paribas Open 2014 took place on March 4th and 5th, 2014. Twelve qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
