Alejandro González (born February 7, 1989 in Medellín ) is a Colombian tennis player .

Career

Alejandro González won his first individual title on the ATP Challenger Tour in March 2013 in Salinas, Ecuador . In the final, he beat the Argentine Renzo Olivo in three sets. Before that, he had already celebrated seven singles and six doubles on the ITF Future Tour and three doubles on the ATP Challenger Tour. At the ATP tournament in Bogotá in July 2013, he played for the first time in the highest category of tennis. In the first round he met the Frenchman Adrian Mannarino , against whom he lost just under three sets. Although González clearly won the second set 6-0, he didn't get the sensation. His second title on the Challenger Tour followed on July 28, 2013. At the tournament in Medellín he defeated Guido Andreozzi in the final in two sets. As a result, he made up around 100 places in the ATP world rankings compared to the beginning of the year. After participating in the finals at the ATP Challenger Tour Finals , he was listed in the top 100 for the first time on November 18, 2013 with rank 91. He achieved his best placement in June 2014 with position 70. In 2017 he played for the Colombian team in the Davis Cup for the first time .
