Alejandro Gómez (born August 14, 1991 in Cali ) is a Colombian tennis player .

Career

Gómez mainly plays on the ITF Future Tour and the ATP Challenger Tour . In 2015 he made his debut on the ATP World Tour at the Claro Open Colombia in Bogotá after qualifying . In the main draw he then surprisingly beat the former top ten player Marcos Baghdatis 6: 3, 0: 6, 7: 6 (7: 3), before losing to the Japanese Tatsuma Itō in three sets in the round of 16 . In the same year he reached a final in doubles at the Challenger tournament in Medellín for the first time, where he and his partner lost to the pairing of Nicolás Barrientos and Eduardo Struvay .

In 2018 he made his debut for the Colombian Davis Cup team .
