The AEGON Championships 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place from June 13th to 19th, 2016 at the Queen’s Club in London . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on grass. In the same week the Gerry Weber Open was played in Halle , which like the AEGON Championships belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Defending champion in singles was Andy Murray . In doubles, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut were the defending champions.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 1,802,945 euros; the total financial liabilities amounted to 1,928,610 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place on June 11th and 12th, 2016. Four qualifier places were played out in singles and one place in doubles, which entitles them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser in singles and doubles.
