Career
Daniel Evans is mainly active on the Challenger Tour and has won six individual titles on it so far.
In Grand Slam tournaments , he was already in the main field of Wimbledon several times due to wild cards . At the US Open 2013 he survived the qualification for the first time and immediately moved into the third round, in which he lost to Tommy Robredo in four sets.
He celebrated his greatest success so far at the ATP tournament in Zagreb , where he lost his game in the third qualifying round, but still played as a lucky loser in the main table and advanced to the semi-finals. In the quarterfinals he defeated the German Philipp Kohlschreiber , who was number 27 in the world rankings at the time. In the semifinals he lost to Tommy Haas in three sets.
Daniel Evans has played for the British Davis Cup team since 2009 .
In October 2017, Evans was retrospectively banned for 12 months for using cocaine. The 27-year-old tested positive for cocaine in a doping test on April 24th. The prize money of 103,000 euros that had been collected since then had to be reimbursed. The collected world ranking points were deducted from him.
