The defending champion in the singles was the Croatian Marin Čilić , who was placed fifth this year and reached the final again. There he was defeated by top seeded Brit Andy Murray in three sets, despite winning the starting set. For Murray this was already the third success at the AEGON Championships and his 27th tournament victory in his career. Last year Max Mirny and Daniel Nestor won the doubles title. While Nestor competed with a new partner this year, Mirny decided not to take part in the tournament. The American brothers Bob and Mike Bryan won the final in three sets against Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares . For the Bryan brothers it was already the fifth success at the AEGON Championships and the 90th joint double title on the ATP Tour.
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 56 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 24 pairs. The 8 top seeded players in singles or pairings in doubles each received a bye into the second round.
The qualification for the AEGON Championships 2013 took place from June 8th to 10th, 2013. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
At the AEGON Championships 2013 the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The amounts for the double competition were per player.
