Jamie Baker (born August 5, 1986 in Glasgow ) is a former British tennis player from Scotland .

Career

Jamie Baker started playing tennis when he was four and turned pro in 2004. He won a doubles title on the second-rate Challenger Tour . He celebrated his greatest success on the World Tour in 2012 at the tournament in Eastbourne , when he defeated a top 50 player with Donald Young in the first round . In Grand Slam tournaments , he never got past the first round in singles. While he always received a wildcard for his participation in Wimbledon , he managed to play his way into the main draw via qualification at the Australian Open in 2008 .

Baker played eight individual games for the British Davis Cup team between 2006 and 2011 with a balanced record.

He has not played a professional tournament since July 2013 and has not been in the world rankings since July 2014.
