The Stella Artois Grass Court Championships in 2000 were the 98th edition of the tennis tournament turf in London . The tournament was part of the male ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place together with the Gerry Weber Open in Halle from June 12th to 19th, 2000. Both tournaments are considered preparatory tournaments for the Wimbledon Championships that will take place two weeks later . The prize money was $ 770,000 for both the single and double tournaments. In singles, 56 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 28 pairings. The first eight seeded single players or the first four seeded double pairings received a bye into the second round.

The defending champion of the individual competition was the US-American Pete Sampras , who this year was two seeded in the finals in two sets inferior to the six seeded Australian Lleyton Hewitt . It was Hewitt's fourth title of the season and the sixth of his career.

The two Australians Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge won in doubles , succeeding Sébastien Lareau and Alex O'Brien , who did not compete in this constellation this year. Lareau failed with his partner Daniel Nestor in the semifinals to the eventual winners, O'Brien lost with Jared Palmer in the second round. For the Australians this was the sixth title of the season, for Woodforde the 69th and for Woodbridge the 61st of the career.
