The Tennis Masters Series Stuttgart 2000 was the 5th edition of the indoor tournament in Stuttgart . As a Masters tournament, the tournament was part of the male ATP series and the first Masters tournament of the season to be played indoors on a hard court. The prize money for the single and double tournaments was $ 2,950,000. It took place from October 30th to November 5th, 2000 in the Schleyerhalle . 48 players competed against each other in singles and 24 pairings in doubles.

The defending champion in the singles was the Swede Thomas Enqvist , who this year failed in the 2nd round against the eventual winner Wayne Ferreira . This success was the first for Ferreira in the 2000 season and his second success in a Masters tournament in his career.

In doubles, the Czech pairing Jiří Novák and David Rikl succeeded last year's winners Jonas Björkman and Byron Black . Both defending champions did not compete this year.
