The 2000 Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon was the 14th edition of the indoor tennis tournament in Lyon . The tournament was played on carpet and, as an International Series tournament, was part of the male ATP series . It took place together with the St. Petersburg Open from November 6th to 13th, 2000. The prize money for both the singles and doubles tournaments was $ 775,000 each. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

The defending champion in the singles was the Ecuadorian Nicolás Lapentti , who did not compete this year. Instead, the unseeded Arnaud Clément from France won, celebrating the second title of the season and his career.

In doubles, the top seeded pairing consisting of the Dutchman Paul Haarhuis and Sandon Stolle from Australia won. You succeeded Piet Norval and Kevin Ullyett . Neither did they defend their title in 2001. For Paes it was the second win of the season and the 51st of his career. With this success, Stolle celebrated the third of the season and the 16th of his career.
