Samsung Open 2000

The Samsung Open 2000 was the 5th and final edition of the indoor tennis tournament in Brighton . It was also the only time the tournament was held in Brighton, previously it was held in Bournemouth . As the tournament of the International Series, the tournament was part of the ATP series for the last time , as it was no longer considered in the following season . It took place together with the Scania Stockholm Open in the last game week before the Tennis Master Cups from November 20th to 26th, 2000 and was played on a hard court surface. The prize pool for both singles and doubles was $ 375,000. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

The individual tournament was won by the top seeded Brit Tim Henman , who replaced the Romanian Adrian Voinea as the title holder. Voinea did not appear to defend the title. For Henman it was the second title of the season and the sixth of his career. He was the only Briton to be able to enter the list of winners in this ATP tournament.

The defending champions in doubles were the Americans Jeff Tarango and David Adams from South Africa. While Adams did not take part in the tournament, Tarango managed to successfully defend his title with this year's partner Michael Hill from Australia in second place. It was the only title of the season for both Hill and Tarango. It was also Tarango's 13th and Hill's second career title.
