Adrian Voinea (born August 6, 1974 in Focşani ) is a former Romanian tennis player .

Career

Voinea began his professional career in 1993. In 1999 he celebrated his greatest career success in Brighton when he won the ATP tournament there by defeating the Austrian Stefan Koubek . In addition, he was already in the 1996 final in Palermo , but had to admit defeat to Karim Alami . He achieved his best Grand Slam result in 1995 at the French Open , where he was able to advance to the quarter-finals. His highest place in the world rankings he reached on April 15, 1996 with rank 36. After he ended his career in 2003, he entered 2007 in the qualifications of the Australian and French Open , in which he was always eliminated in the first round.

Between 1995 and 2003 Voinea played a total of twelve matches for the Romanian Davis Cup team . He was only used in singles and won ten out of 18 games.
