Gerhard Mester (born January 28, 1956 in Betzdorf ) is a German cartoonist .

Life

After his community service , Mester studied graphic design from 1978 to 1984 at the University of Kassel . Since 1985 he has been working as a freelance caricaturist and draws political caricatures for various daily newspapers and magazines, including: Aachener Nachrichten , Deutsches Allgemeine Sonntagsblatt , Die Rheinpfalz , Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung , Mittelbayerische Zeitung , Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung , Solarbrief (association journal of the SFV ), Thuringian General , Publik Forum , Westfälische Rundschau , Wiesbadener Kurier ( Rhein-Main publishing group ).

In 2020, 34 caricatures by the draftsman Gerhard Mester will be a central component of the walking interactive information exhibition Climate Change Understandable from the Center for Climate Change and Adaptation of the Hessian State Office for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology (HLNUG), which will take place from 11 to 21 July 2020 in the South Hessian City of Lampertheim guest.
