Grand Slams 2007

The 95th Australian Open took place in Melbourne from January 15 to 28, 2007 .

Defending champions in the singles were Roger Federer for men and Amélie Mauresmo for women. It was the first time in the history of the tournament that the so-called hawk-eye was used. The players have the possibility to have a limited number of line decisions checked with the electronic eye per set.

The total prize money was 20 million Australian dollars; the individual winners each received $ 1,281,000.

In the men's singles, Roger Federer was able to defend his title without losing a set. The unseeded Serena Williams won the women's singles . The men's doubles were won by the Bryan brothers Bob and Mike , while the women's doubles were won by Cara Black and Liezel Huber . In the mixed final Daniel Nestor and Jelena Lichowzewa prevailed.
