The 103rd Australian Open took place in Melbourne from January 19 to February 1, 2015 .
Defending champions in the singles were Stan Wawrinka in the men and Li Na in the women. In the men's doubles these were Łukasz Kubot and Robert Lindstedt , in the ladies doubles Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci . The defending champions in mixed were Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor .
As a novelty there was a third place with a roof construction, next to the Rod Laver Arena and the Hisense Arena ; the expansion of the Margaret Court Arena was completed last year.
