In the same week, the AEGON Championships were played in London's Queen’s Club , which, like the Gerry Weber Open, belong to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Defending champion in the singles was Roger Federer . In doubles, Andre Begemann and Julian Knowle were the defending champions.
