The Gerry Weber Open 2012 was a tennis tournament that took place from June 11th to 17th, 2012 in Halle . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2012 and was played on grass. In the same week, the AEGON Championships were played at the Queen’s Club in London , which, like the Gerry Weber Open, belong to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in the singles was Philipp Kohlschreiber , who was eliminated in the semifinals against his compatriot Tommy Haas . This was able to prevail in the final and win his second title in Halle with a victory over record title holder Roger Federer . In doubles, Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi no longer competed together to defend their title. While Bopanna did not take part in the tournament, Qureshi reached the final again with Jean-Julien Rojer , where they defeated Treat Conrad Huey and Scott Lipsky .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. In the singles, the four top seeded players received a bye in the first round.
