The ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament 2012 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 13th to 19th, 2012 in Rotterdam . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2012 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week the SAP Open was played in San José and the Brasil Open in São Paulo . In contrast to the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, which belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category, these were only included in the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in the singles, Robin Söderling , could not compete due to injury. In this year's final, Roger Federer prevailed against Juan Martín del Potro in two sets . This was his second title win in Rotterdam after 2005 and the 71st ATP title of his career. Jürgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner were the defending champions in doubles . However, Petzschner entered this year with a new partner and was eliminated in the quarter-finals. In the final, Michaël Llodra and Nenad Zimonjić won in three sets over Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecău , fending off five match points. This was their fifth joint ATP title. Llodra had previously won 22 titles with various partners, Zimonjić even 43, including in 2009 and 2010 in Rotterdam.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.
