In the individual, Milos Raonic from Canada was able to successfully defend his previous year's title by beating Uzbek Denis Istomin in the final . This was his second ATP title in 2012 and the third of his career overall. Istomin, on the other hand, is still waiting for his first title after his second final. The Bulgarian Dimitar Kutrowski caused a little surprise, as a qualifier in his first ATP tournament - also due to a lucky draw - immediately reached the quarter-finals. In May 2012, however, the ATP announced that Kutrowski had been found to be the banned substance methylhexanamine , which he said he had consumed through the Jack3D dietary supplement . Kutrowski was then banned for two years.
In doubles, Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram went to defend their title and reached the semi-finals. The tournament victory went to Mark Knowles and Xavier Malisse , who prevailed in the final against Kevin Anderson and Frank Moser . This was their second joint ATP title, the first in 2012. Knowles had won 53 titles with other partners over the course of his career, Malisse five. Anderson and Moser, on the other hand, missed winning their first double title.
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round.
The qualification took place from February 11th to 13th, 2012. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
