SAP Open 2006

The SAP Open 2006 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 13th to 19th, 2006 in San José . It was part of the ATP Tour 2006 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament was played in Rotterdam and the Brasil Open in Costa do Sauípe . The latter, like the SAP Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category , while the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

In the singles final, Andy Murray prevailed against Lleyton Hewitt . Jonas Björkman and John McEnroe won the double-final against the American pairing Paul Goldstein and Jim Thomas .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs.
