Murphy Jensen (born October 30, 1968 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is a retired American tennis player .
Life
Jensen attended the University of Southern California like his brother Luke and became a professional tennis player in 1991. In the same year he won his first two Challenger titles in doubles, winning the tournament in Hong Kong alongside his brother Luke. In 1993 the brothers surprisingly won the French Open by beating Marc-Kevin Goellner and David Prinosil in the final . His brother had been successful on the ATP World Tour with alternating partners since 1988 , from 1993 they played together and achieved three more tournament victories. They were also together in a final seven times. He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1993 with position 568 in singles and in 1993 with position 17 in doubles.
His best single result in a Grand Slam tournament was the victory in doubles at the French Open in 1993. He won against the German doubles of Marc-Kevin Goellner and David Prinosil alongside his brother Murphy .
Jensen has a son with actress Robin Givens , with whom he was dating in the late 1990s. He works as the coach of the Washington Kastles in the US World TeamTennis league . He was also presenter of the talk show Open Access on the Tennis Channel in 2004 , in which he hosted Richard Branson and Donald Trump, among others . In 2006 he interviewed various tennis professionals in Murphy's Guide . He also appeared in the comedy film Wimbledon - Game, Set and ... Love on the side of Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany as Ivan Dragomir .
