Hendrik Dreekmann (born January 29, 1975 in Bielefeld ) is a former German tennis player .

Career

In the ATP world rankings he reached his highest position in 1996 with 39th place. He was unable to win an ATP tournament in his career, although he was twice in a final: In 1994 he was defeated by Markus Zoecke in Sun City 4: 6 and 1: 6, in 1996 he lost 5: 7, 2: 6 in Basel , 0: 6 against Pete Sampras . His greatest success was the quarter-finals at the French Open in 1994. He played a total of three matches for Germany in the Davis Cup in 1996 and 1997 . He won two of his six individual games.

After his career ended in 1999 due to injury, he opened an Italian restaurant in Bielefeld , which he no longer runs today. In 2002 he tried a comeback at the lawn tournament in Halle . Since 2005 he has been married to the former long jumper Susen Tiedtke . The couple, who have two children together, have been living separately since summer 2008.

Today Dreekmann runs an agency for sports event travel.
