Luke Jensen (born June 18, 1966 in Grayling , Michigan ) is a retired American tennis player .
Life
Jensen attended the University of Southern California and became a professional tennis player in 1987. He specialized in doubles , and played with his brother Murphy for several years . He was able to win ten doubles tournaments on the ATP World Tour , and a further 14 doubles. He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1988 with position 168 in singles and 1993 with position 6 in doubles.
His best single result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the second round of the US Open in 1985 and 1986. In doubles, he won alongside his brother Murphy at the French Open in 1993 against the German doubles made up of Marc-Kevin Goellner and David Prinosil . Jensen was one of the few two-handed players on the ATP World Tour, he could also change hands during a match. Hence his nickname Dual Hand Luke resulted .
In 2006 he became the head coach at Syracuse University .
