The 2012 Rogers Cup was a tennis tournament that took place in Toronto from August 6 to 12, 2012 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2012 and was played on hard court. This season it was the sixth of nine tournaments in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 category . In parallel, in found Montreal and the 2012 Rogers Cup instead of the ladies.

Defending champion in the singles was the Serbian Novak Đoković , who was able to defend his title after his defeat in the game for third place at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In the final, he defeated French Richard Gasquet , who was in the Toronto final for the second time in his career. In doubles, the pairing Michaël Llodra and Nenad Zimonjić were the defending champions, but they did not compete together this year. The victorious brothers were Bob and Mike Bryan , who won the Canada Masters title for the fourth time; in the final, in which they had to fend off a match point, they defeated the Spanish pairing Marcel Granollers and Marc López .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 24 pairs. The sixteen top seeded players in singles and the eight top seeded pairings in doubles each got a bye into the second round.

qualification

The qualification took place from 3rd to 4th August 2012. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
