The Erste Bank Open 2012 was a tennis tournament that took place from October 15 to 21, 2012 in Vienna . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2012 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week were in Stockholm the If Stockholm Open , and in Moscow the Kremlin Cup played that just like the Erste Bank Open to category ATP World Tour 250 counted.

Last year's winner in the individual was Jo-Wilfried Tsonga , who did not take part in the tournament this year. In the final, the top seeded Argentine Juan Martín del Potro met the qualifier Grega Žemlja . Del Potro won in straight sets 7-5 and 6-3. For him it was already the third title and his 12th title in his career this year. In doubles, the brothers Bob and Mike Bryan were the defending champions, but they too did not participate in the tournament this year. It won Andre Begemann and Martin Emmrich , which in the final, the duo Julian Knowle and Filip Polášek defeated.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.

The qualification took place from October 13-15, 2012. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
