The Vienna Open 1974 took place in Vienna from October 28 to November 3, 1974 . They were brought into being on the initiative of the then event manager of the Wiener Stadthalle and the tennis journalist Hermann Fuchs .

The American Vitas Gerulaitis secured the first title in the individual competition, while Raymond Moore and Andrew Pattison secured victory in the doubles .
