Balázs Taróczy (born May 9, 1954 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian tennis player .

His highest individual placement in the world rankings was number 13. He was able to win 13 tournaments in his career - all on sand. He is the record winner of the ATP tournament in Amersfoort , where he has won six times, five of them in a row.

However, he celebrated his greater successes in doubles. He won a total of 26 titles, including the French Open in 1981 , Wimbledon in 1985 and the Double Masters in 1982, 1983 and 1986 (each with Heinz Günthardt ). In 1985 he also reached 3rd place in the double world rankings.

He played for Hungary in the Davis Cup for 14 years and is the Hungarian record holder in single and double victories. In total, he played 95 times for Hungary and won 76 times.

In 1989 and 1990 he was the coach of Goran Ivanišević , with whom he also played a few doubles on the ATP Tour .
