The Open Sud de France 2012 was a tennis tournament that took place from January 30th to February 5th 2012 in Pérols near Montpellier . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2012 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week were in Zagreb , the PBZ Zagreb Indoors and in Viña del Mar , the VTR Open played that just like the Open Sud de France to category ATP World Tour 250 counted.

The tournament was last held in October 2010, when Gaël Monfils won singles and Stephen Huss and Ross Hutchins doubles. Monfils reached the final again, but lost there in three sets against the top seeded Tomáš Berdych , who won his seventh ATP title.

In doubles, Hutchins now played with a new partner, with whom he was eliminated in the quarterfinals. In this year's final, Nicolas Mahut and Édouard Roger-Vasselin won in straight sets against Paul Hanley and Jamie Murray . After winning a number of Challenger tournaments together, this was their first joint ATP title. For Roger-Vasselin it was also the first ever ATP title, while Mahut had already won three more titles with other partners in the course of his career.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round.
