The 2012 Farmers Classic was a tennis tournament held in Los Angeles from July 23-29, 2012 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2012 and was played on hard court. In the same week were in Kitzbühel the bet-at-home Cup Kitzbühel played that just like the Farmers Classic to category ATP World Tour 250 counted.

Defending champion in the singles was Ernests Gulbis , who took part in the parallel tournament in Kitzbühel this year. What was remarkable was the fact that with Benoît Paire only one player from the current top 50 of the world rankings took part in the tournament. In the final, Sam Querrey , who had already won the tournament in 2009 and 2010, and the Lithuanian Ričardas Berankis faced each other. However, Berankis had no chance in his first ATP final, Querrey won clearly 6: 0, 6: 2. It was his third title in Los Angeles and the seventh in his career. In doubles, the pairing of Mark Knowles and Xavier Malisse were the defending champions, but they did not compete together this year. While Knowles didn't even take part in the tournament, Malisse plays alongside his compatriot Ruben Bemelmans . Malisse and Bemelmans won the tournament too, in the final they beat the Britons Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski in three sets. It was the Belgians' first joint title, as well as Malisse's seventh and Bemelman's first career success.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.
