Roger Federer defended his title in singles . However, he could not defend his title because he was unable to play in his semi-final game against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga due to a back injury . In the final, which had to be interrupted for half an hour due to fog, he won in two sets against his compatriot Gaël Monfils . This was Tsonga's first title in Doha and the eighth ATP title of his career. Monfils, on the other hand, who had previously defeated the top seeded Rafael Nadal in the other semi-final , lost the Doha final for the second time since 2006.
